The low-frequency nature of ELIX MDC means it can be naturally adapted for biomedical applications and will not cause tissue heating or nerve stimulation. ELIX MDC can transfer power across human tissue safely and reliably. Transfer can take place across more than 20 cm of tissue depending on the application and transmitter design.
ELIX MDC needs no physical connection between transmitter and receiver and can be sealed up to IP69X for full underwater operation. Good magnetic performance under high pressure and ability to transfer through certain subsea enclosures makes ELIX MDC ideal for remote powering in subsea locations. MDC systems can be designed for pressure-compensated operation and the magnetic nature of the technology simplifies alignment with ROV/AUV.
